KLK announced its active participation in the transformative PM KUSUM Yojana.
The PM KUSUM Scheme is a groundbreaking initiative designed to revolutionize the agricultural sector by providing farmers with access to sustainable energy. This ambitious scheme targets the addition of approximately 34,800 MW of solar capacity by March 2026, backed by a substantial central financial support of ₹34,422 crore.
The scheme is further divided into three key components:
1. Component A: Setting up of 10,000 MW of decentralized ground/stilt-mounted grid-connected solar or other renewable energy-based power plants on farmers’ land.
2. Component B: Installation of 14 lakh stand-alone solar agriculture pumps.
3. Component C: Solarization of 35 lakh grid-connected agriculture pumps, including feeder-level solarization.
KLK is honoured to be one of the empaneled vendors for Component B of the PM KUSUM Scheme, focusing on the installation of stand-alone solar agriculture pumps in Jammu & Kashmir. This critical component of the scheme will significantly reduce farmers’ dependency on conventional power sources and diesel, leading to substantial savings and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
Specific Allocations in Jammu & Kashmir – (JAKEDA) Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency has allocated 444 solar pumps to KLK under Component B. These solar pumps will provide reliable and eco-friendly irrigation solutions, enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring energy security for farmers in the region.
Akshat Jain, CEO of KLK, said, “We are excited to collaborate with the government under the PM KUSUM Yojana. This initiative is not just about installing solar pumps; it’s about transforming lives, boosting agricultural productivity, and promoting sustainable energy solutions. We are dedicated to ensuring that farmers across Jammu & Kashmir reap the benefits of this innovative scheme.”
